N1 temporarily closed: how to reach our location in Vilvoorde without any worries
From Thursday, June 12 until Sunday, July 6, 2025, the N1 will be temporarily closed in both directions near the Viaduct. This closure is part of a broader traffic plan developed by the Agency for Roads and Traffic and local municipalities, aiming to keep both through traffic and local access running as smoothly as possible.

What does this mean for access Schaarbeeklei 485?
Getting to Schaarbeeklei 485:
- Use the Budasteenweg, either from the Budabrug or from the N1 Vilvoordselaan (coming from Brussels)
- Take the Harensesteenweg
- Then follow either the Louis Brentastraat or Gillekensstraat to access the closed-off section of the N1 and reach your destination
Leaving Schaarbeeklei 485:
- Exit via the Gillekensstraat or the closed section of the N1
- Turn right onto the Louis Brentastraat
- Then turn left onto the Harensesteenweg, which leads you back to the Budasteenweg
This route will be temporarily open in both directions. We advise allowing extra travel time and planning your route in advance.
